I've added in an option to the Options>Settings>Teacher Settings page on Tonic Tutor called Show Lesson Template to Students. If you switch this on, the name of the lesson template will be displayed the lesson page when students are playing through their lesson.

I'll review all of the updated games and try to add this in where possible.

    Hi Julie,

It's possible that the game was muted. If you look at the bottom left corner, there should be a mute button and a volume slider. If the mute button is red or the slider is set all the way to the left, all sound will be muted. This setting is associated with the account, so if sound is muted in one game, that same setting will be used in other games until the setting has been changed. If it doesn't look like sound is muted, please contact me at help@tonictutor.com, I'd be happy to help you solve the problem.

    Will

There should be the option to set up to 8 listens in the Listens drop down menu.

It sounds like you may have your browser window zoomed in a bit which can have an affect on the 3D and cause some elements not to display properly. If you press Control - 0 (the number zero) or Command - 0 if you're on a Mac, that should resolve the issue.

Circles uses a timer that could be affected negatively if the CPU on the computer it's being played on has a high load. So if a lot of applications are open or an application is CPU intensive, it's possible the timer will become inaccurate and cause inconsistencies in the scoring. We would recommend trying to close all of the other applications open on the computer or restarting the computer that's having this problem and see if that helps.

We've added some information to the Lesson Preset Options section of the Edit Lesson page that explains that lessons are not reset when you assign a new preset. We hope that makes things a little bit clearer and avoids any further confusion about how assigning a new preset template works.

We're sorry to hear that you're finding the site difficult to use, hopefully I can help by explaining how lessons are intended to work on Tonic Tutor. It sounds like you're trying to assign a second lesson after the student finishes their first lesson, is that correct? Tonic Tutor is setup to work alongside weekly studio lessons, which means that they complete the lesson you assign them once each week. After a student has finished their lesson they don't get a new one until it resets at the lesson time you assign them, even if you go and change their lesson before then. It still won't reset until the lesson time you assign them passes, which is why your students still have access to Freeplay even after you've assigned them a new template.

This does seem like a good idea, and we'll take it into consideration. Our major concern is that it may potentially end up punishing students who are trying their best at difficult games like Robot by making them play it endlessly before their lesson is finished. Our goal is give as much control as we can to teachers while making the process of using Tonic Tutor for students as "frictionless" as we can so that they don't get frustrated or bored. It can be a difficult balance to achieve.

Another possibility is giving teachers the ability to set a lesson score threshold a student must reach in order to have access to Freeplay once their lesson is finished.

We've made some changes to Trains that should make the rhythm a bit more consistent. We plan to take a closer look and see if we can make more improvements (such as adding rests) to Trains in the future.

We have considered adding more options to the teacher version of Freeplay in the past, but since we have so many presets we're worried that it might get a little bit too complicated and overwhelm newer users to the site. If there is enough demand from teachers to add in more options to the Freeplay page for teachers, we would definitely take a closer look at trying to add that in.

This is an interesting idea and I can see how it would be useful to teachers, but student accounts require a separate login in order to function due to how a browser's session is set up to control the student's Tonic Tutor account.
